Hello you classy and chic individuals. I would like to thank you for visiting the site and checking out my very first blog. The goal of this new endeavor is to provide a platform to share in what brings us together, and encourages both new and old ideas of what it means to create a classy and chic lifestyle. I know there are a lot of attributes to consider when thinking of what is and isn’t considered to be classy n’chic. This would be my incomplete and very general definition of what it means to be classy n’chic….
Class·y pronouncedˈ klasē -informal stylish and sophisticated -synonymous with high-class, smart, superior, sophisticated and upscale.
Chic pronounced SHēk
-smart elegance. A distinctive mode of dress and/or manner associated with a fashionable lifestyle, ideology, or pursuit.
Who doesn’t want to be associated with these definitions?
Again, these descriptions are what help ME define my classy n’chic.
Storytime: I am not ashamed to say that I was a woman that wore every name/label but my own. The sad truth in that was, I actually thought that the name you were wearing was indicative to your value as a person… It has taken a lot of experience, time, wasted money and eventually my peace to realize, being fabulous is not determined by an expansive wardrobe, how much your home is worth or how many vehicles one has parked in her driveway. For with this ideology, the more you get, the more you want, and that simply becomes unsustainable. Notice I didn’t say the the brands that complement your frame and style, the neighborhood or community in which you enjoy being a contributing member, or the vehicle you love to drive. Understand, while Brand “A” is presentable, Brand “B” brings about a confidence that encourages elevated ideas and thinking. The latter empowers you, while the former will eventually rival that of imprisonment.
Please don’t misunderstand me, this is not a call to give away or sell all of the things you have worked hard to obtain. However, if that is what you are feeling I’m always up for a good swap.
My truth: I now purchase or swap things based 85% percent on how it makes me feel about me and 15% of how it may make others perceive me. Hey, I’m a work in progress. -Progression not perfection.
I’d love to hear your story and your truth on what it means to be classy n’chic….so please, feel free to share in the comments below.
“Confidence encourages elevated ideas and thinking.”
“When in doubt, ALWAYS go with the brand that is going to ADD VALUE to your life….even and/or especially if it is your own.”
